Bright and Bold Florals
You may think of a floral print being girly or even dowdy. Tiny stems, petals and flowers known as "ditsy" floral prints have been around for decades. This year, the new floral print is strong and bold. They get their inspiration from runway looks and stand out as one of the great trends to celebrate this summer. Find these great prints on blouses, dresses - and even printed denim! They're awesome.

They're Calling Them Unexpected Companions
Florals and leopard prints together - Yes, it's unexpected, maybe even a little unconventional - but it works! The combination is great. Animal and floral print mixing was spotted on the runways as early as last Spring, but it's gotten very popular this season. Animal prints have been popular for decades - and that's not changing....just improving with a new twist. You'll find this combination in a variety of colors and prints. Look for it in blouses, leggings, knit tops, vests, scarves and handbags! It's just fabulous, don't you think?

2013 Blouse Trends
Frills, ruffles, lace and sheer fabrics in a pretty girly palette. You will see all kinds of incredible prints, from soft floral to paisleys. You'll see all kinds of sleeves, too. Look for butterfly sleeves, cap sleeve -- AND yes, sleeveless. The big trend leans toward blouses that are made to be left un-tucked, A-line, and comfortably fitted at the top. The lengths are varied, from the hem falling just below the waist to the longer tunic styles. Blouses are really HOT! Don't miss out.

Borrowed from Chelsea Menswear's Blog. It's Worth Reading!
It happens every day. Or, too many days; close enough - - - In this case, a man from Wyandotte, who says he has been here for 20 years, came in and bought some Tommy Bahama stuff from us. He had never been in the store. Regardless of what business you're in, revelations like this never go without remark. "What the heck? How could this be possible?" In this case, the man also told us that he was glad - - - he liked it that he now had a place he could try on and see in person, because he bought all his Tommy Bahama on-line. Of course we're SO grateful that this one man has now found us, and we him. Yet we are stunned by the lack of connection that led to this one man buying on-line, completely unaware that we are here. The responsibility lies not with our new customer and all the others that go elsewhere. CHELSEA needs to learn how to reach more people, more consistently. Or we won't be here. What we hope for, too, though, is that the reverse is true - - - "I've got to support these local guys or they won't be here". Stores like ours are not anachronistic relics. We provide a service that goes far beyond selling clothes. Chelsea (and Willow Tree) exist for the relationships we cherish and hope are cherished by others. We don't sell things to people they don't want, we never mislead. We are trustworthy, reliable, honest resources in our specialty, and we TALK to people. We LIKE people. We like to shake hands, share jokes and anecdotes, and simply BE the integral part of our community that we are. As long as WE still value that connection, we'll be here, doing our thing. For ourselves, sure, but for the people we really care about and that rely on us, too. We know so many people, marvel at the network of who knows who and who is related to whom. A community is an awesome thing. We hope that people feel this same sense of connection, not just with us, but with ALL of the businesses and people in the community we call home. Whether it's Wyandotte or Downriver, it is powerful stuff, friends. We're here for a reason, indeed. Check out our other business, a new business called Love Wyandotte. This new venture was formed specifically to strengthen our community, by calling attention to this issue and more. www.LoveWyandotte.com and/or www.facebook.com/lovewyandotteIBA.
Rain boots are not just for April showers. With Michigan's unpredictable weather that is sunny one moment and cloudy the next, you've got to be prepared. That's why you need the perfect pair of rain boots. We've had moms that spend time sloshing around at regattas come in for them. We have boaters that need a quick pair of slip on rain boots for the boat. We even know of a few Roar on the River workers that want them for their 3-day adventure at Elizabeth Park. They're versatile(and cute) and small so they're easy to stow in the trunk, below deck - or in the closet!
And the best news? You don’t have to pay a fortune to own a pair.

Crinkle That Won't Wrinkle
Crinkle clothing has been consistently popular in fashion because the crinkles themselves liven up the texture of an outfit. Crinkle fabric is one of the hottest fashion trends right now, too. It adds a touch of whimsy or bohemian flair to any outfit. We've got it from Comfy USA, Chalet and Apropos. It's light, airy and feminine and perfect for the summer season.

Bila Vintage Clothing
What do you get when you star-cross an exotic Eastern entrepreneur with a Midwestern chanteuse living in Haight-Ashbury in 1978? They got a love child, and named it BILA. Bila is a parade of unique prints, great fit and soothing textures and wears like an endless summer. The company is directly involved in every stitch of its business. They're hands on, full time and it shows. They design their line on site at their facility near L.A.'s Fashion District. They travel to India to personally select their fabrics from weavers they've known for over 30 years. They work one-on-one with the mills, factories and print makers to ensure the quality, vintage Los Angeles look, and originality that has made BILA a leading trend and style label that continually delivers a fresh look year after year. Willow Tree has carried the line for years and know that our customers look forward to the new pieces each summer.

Nomadic Traders Newest Division called Apropos is NOW at Willow Tree
In 1973 Nomadic Traders began traveling to the marketplaces in Peru and Bolivia, carefully selecting hand-knit alpaca sweaters which were sold at craft fairs and local markets around the country from the back of their van.
The wide range of women’s clothing that they offer today bears little resemblance to those early Nomadic Traders products, though.
Working out of half a dozen countries their experienced design team creates the “Nomadic” look from casual weekend wear to resort sophistication. They constantly search out new fabrications to bring the latest trends and novelty items to their customers....like they did with their new division called Apropos - now at Willow Tree. A bonus is that they're MADE in AMERICA.
Apropos is Nomadic Trader's updated bridge label geared to encompass the latest trends. Bold colors and pop prints capture the feel of the season. Mixing, not matching, is the name of the game....and we're ready to play at the Tree.

Blazers with Shorts to Work? Absolutely!
Pair your bermudas with a tailored blazer, and you'll take them from casual to work in an instant. For more formal business offices, choose a jacket in the same shade. If your work place has a more relaxed dress code, choose a blazer in a coordinating print or fun color - OR wear a solid blazer with a printed short. We LOVE this look.

Flats or Heels?
In the same way stilettos dress up jeans, trading in your flip flops for high heels adds an easy style upgrade to Bermudas. For a night out, add a dose of glamour with a pair of peep-toe pumps. For daytime, you may want to opt for a more casual and comfortable wedge or espadrille. So many options, right?
