Hand Loomed
Susan Carli has specific ideas on incorporating different fibers and textures into her weaving. She works with shiny ribbons and metallic yarns in many colors and textures. She uses unique combinations of various fibers, both domestic and imported, including silk, cotton, rayon, metallics and various novelty yarns, creating her own unique line of handwovens.
Each and every scarf, shawl, or tassle scarf is done by 100% by Susan by hand. She chooses the yarns - usually consisting of 20-30 different types of yarn, threads the loom, weaves the fabric, cuts and sews the garment, hand finishes each piece, and even packs and ships the final product herself. This means that her work is not mass produced, not seen at all major craft shows nor found in every store. It also guarantees that each of her weavings is a unique piece of wearable art. People have tried to copy her design -- but there is only ONE Susan Carli...and we've got it at Willow Tree!
